Ailín Kennedy

I’m passionate about supporting you to navigate your neurodiversity, uncover your strengths, and bring you a deeper understanding of yourself and your ADHD.

Hi! My name is Ailín Kennedy (Ails) and I’m an ADDCA-trained ADHD coach.

What is ADHD?

ADHD, or Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, is a neurodevelopmental condition that impacts attention, self-control, and activity levels

ADHD is a long-term condition that affects many parts of a person's life, including school/college, work, relationships, and daily activities. It can hinder academic success, career growth, and the quality of interactions with friends and family, making it harder to manage everyday tasks.

What is ADHD Coaching?

Life with ADHD can be difficult. It comes with tremendous strengths but also tremendous challenges

Coaching offers support to guide you towards a better life with someone who understands (I was diagnosed with ADHD as an adult!).

I partner with you to develop techniques and skills to help you identify and build the life you want, honing in on your strengths, whilst appreciating the challenges of our ADHD.

ADHD coaching is a process and an ongoing relationship between coach and client. It is transformative and client-led, by focusing on you as a person, taking your ADHD and neurodiversity into account.

Client Feedback

Coaching is not just problem-solving, it’s transformational. It brings you a deeper understanding of yourself, and your ADHD, and uncovers your strengths.

“There is so much I could say about Ailín’s BRILLIANT attributes and how she has helped me to live a better life.”

As someone with a late ADHD diagnosis I came to Ailín with feeling of shame and inadequacy for not being able to ‘adult’ as effortlessly as everyone else. Ailín brings a warmth and understanding to her sessions.

I always felt I could open up to her, she gave me space to verbally process my thoughts, asked great questions along the way and empowered me to make the changes I wanted.

Sometimes this would result in a simple perspective change and in other cases specific actions to help me approach daily problems in new ways. Coaching is not a silver bullet, I definitely still have ADHD.

But many daily struggles feel easier, I’m kinder to myself and I feel excited about creating a better life for myself.

About Ailín

After years of struggling with my own mental health, consistently seeking help and being diagnosed with various conditions that didn’t quite tell the whole story, I was finally diagnosed with ADHD at the age of 32.

At last, I felt like I had some answers, and it opened up a whole new understanding and opportunity to be myself.

For so long, I thought I was broken; “Why couldn’t I stick to anything? Why did I get bored easily, and struggle with keeping a job? Why couldn’t I just sit down and focus on one thing at a time?!”

Even though it was a relief to have this new language, it also came with excruciating regret, anger, and grief for, “what could have been”.

My personal experience of diagnosis was long, stressful, and led me to start an Instagram page to learn more about ADHD, share my experiences, and advocate alongside the ever-growing neurodivergent community.

Through finding ADHD coaching, I rediscovered myself for who I am. Unique, resilient, more than capable, and I felt inspired.

The desire I felt to help other people like me was strong, and when I feel truly passionate about something, I like to try it out! But because I had tried many things before, I wanted to see if I’d like the coaching model.

So, I initially completed a general Life Coaching course and a short ADHD course during lockdown to see if I’d like it, and I LOVED it! This spurred me on to take an ADHD-specific Coaching course with the industry leader, ADDCA, and it’s been incredible.

Now I’m a practicing coach myself, with 300+ hours working with ADHD and neurodivergent clients, and it’s the most rewarding job I have ever had (and I’ve had many)!
